The third wheel (we’ve all been there!)

Have you ever felt extremely awkward and heart wrenchingly unwanted when you are spending some time with your friend and their boyfriend?

I feel that ALL the time when there’s only just the three of us, whether it’s walking around in town or just having lunch with them. It’s as if I’m the menacing pin threathening to pop their little bubble of love and happiness should I ever even dare to join their conversation.

OK, maybe that’s all a BIT over dramatic, but you get what I’m suggesting.

You feel, well, excluded. They whisper a joke and burst out in fits of giggles, whilst you watch, eager to know what it is they’re laughing about, but they refuse to tell you because it’s a ‘private joke’. You walk over to them whilst they’re hugging on the grass, just to say hello, but you change your mind, as you feel a vibe from them that you’re not wanted. And one minute you’re talking to them, and the next they lovingly gaze into each other’s eyes and suddenly this wall appears separating you.

It’s tough, especially when you are single, watching your friend’s boyfriend wrapping his arms around her waist and pulling her in to his warmth, whilst you sit there gritting your teeth and frantically rubbing your arms to keep remotely warm. And when they hold hands as they are walking, and you are forced to trail behind, depressed, or just charge on ahead by yourself, alone.

I never tell my friends (practically all of whom are tied up with someone) that I ever feel this way because I don’t want to be pitied (and I know they don’t REALLY care how I feel, since the boyfriend is all they ever care about for the moment). I know the most obvious thing is NOT to spend time with them (duh!) but you just don’t want to come across as jealous or anti-social, and I need to see my friends SOMETIME!

Only one friend of mine actually includes me when she is with her boyfriend, and I love her immensely for doing that.

So girlies, think about your friend next time, imagine how she feels. Do you want to be treated like that should your boyfriend dump you and she is the one with a guy? Surely you don’t want to be the third wheel?

The red string of fate.

“According to the myth, the gods tie an invisible red string around the little finger of people who are destined to be soul mates and will one day marry each other.” It can get twisted and knotted..but it will never be broken

This is adorable. True love <3 <3

The difference between real life and romantic movies…

One day I was sitting in a cafe, reading a book with a lovely cup of warm tea in one hand (I’m setting the scene, ok? Hahah :P) when I looked up and caught sight of a rather cute guy. I think I ended up staring at him for more than a few seconds when he properly turned around and caught my eyes.

Realising the eye contact, I quickly averted my gaze and made a hurried sip of my tea (burning my tongue while I’m at it).

Now.

Thoughts were whirling through my head. Is he going to come over and say hi? Will he walk past me and trip or something so that I could save him? Will he craftily sneak his number to me? IS HE THE ONE????

There I was waiting with baited breath as he moved closer. And closer.

Then he walked straight past me as if I didn’t even exist.

What on earth gave me all those crazy notions that something was going to happen?

Romantic movies…that’s what. Because in real life things like this just don’t happen. And if they do, it’s probably because the guy purely wants to get in your pants. No thanks.

Darn you romantic films!

OMG. If you haven’t already watched this…WATCH IT!!! This is just about the cutest thing ever. And I totally teared up watching this.

Daaangg, I want an amazing engagement proposal! :P

Well, one can dream…

Better hope this is true, considering the number of times I’ve given away my feelings from blushing. And made a fool of myself ending up looking like a tomato…

Je taime.

When I’m out and about, I see SO many guys around. Sometimes one will catch my eye and I instantly think ‘WOWZERS’. But what makes them stand out from others? I tried to pinpoint one thing, but couldn’t so I came up with my list of ‘The Instant Oo-la-la Factors’ in a guy:

1. His hair is short-ish but tousled…kind of like a lover has just run her fingers through his hair look

2. He has bright blue eyes that just sparkle and are so clear that you end up mesmerised by them

3. When he smiles he has dimples (SUCH A TURN ON!!!)

4. He has a sexy smile

5. He smells of one of those Boss/Davidoff/Calvin Klein perfumes when you walk past him

6. He has a good dress sense (especially love the whole checked shirt with rolled up sleeves look)

7. He has a slight tan

8. He has an athletic figure (not too built!)

9. When he catches your eye as if he knows you totally fancy him and all of the things above hit you like a ton of bricks…then you feel that spark shimmering everywhere through your body. Talk about instant WOW. If he also blushes…*momentarily dies*

;) N xoxo

I want to know, what are YOUR instant turn-ons in a guy (who you don’t know personally)?

What would turn me off a guy?

My friends and I were having this conversation…what would be the things that would make us go ‘no-no’ at a guy?

Here’s my instant turn-off list:

1. Smoking/alcoholic/drug taker

2. Someone who I wouldn’t be able to make easy conversation with because he is just plain boring/creepy/awkward, or doesn’t make me laugh

3. If his hair is longer than mine (can’t handle the competition!)

4. Someone who doesn’t smell good/has a general sense of bad personal hygiene

5. Someone who doesn’t have any ambition

6. If he isn’t a gentleman/doesn’t treat others well

7. If he has a bad dress sense/he is covered in tatoos/has piercings/has a crazy beard-moustache thing going on

8. If he hasn’t got a good relationship with his family

9. Someone who doesn’t look after his physical and emotional being

10. (This is going to sound shallow but I’m going to be honest) If he isn’t good-looking

11. If he only thing he wants to do is *ahem* sleep with me (even though he may be none of the above, a girl has got to have some respect for herself!!)

12. If he’s shorter than me.

Let’s see if I ever meet someone who doesn’t tick any of these boxes :P wish me luck guys!

Also, very interested to know, what are YOUR top turn-offs in a guy?

I can’t wait to experience this feeling one day. One day. <3 N xoxo
